PADI IDC Staff Instructor #363895
SDI Instructor #24201
DDI Instructor #1097
EFR Instructor #363895

During a DSD, Robert discovered that he could feel sounds while underwater and his love for SCUBA exploded from there. Robert started working on his professional rating as a way of paying for his SCUBA habit. He is one of few instructors who can teach in English and sign language (great for those underwater classes) having participated in the first all ASL (American Sign Language) PADI IDC. Robert is the only diver at Nautilus that Kevin has had to tell to “stop talking” while underwater.
Specialties: Wreck, Deep, Boat (very useful in Virginia), Navigation, Enriched Air, Night, and Search & Recovery.
Fun Facts About Robert Outside of Diving: “So, you wanna to buy a goat?”
Robert’s Thoughts on Diving: “Any reason is a great reason, any place is an awesome place and any time is the perfect time.”
Robert’s Favorite Dive Site: So far they all are, haven’t seen a bad place yet.
Waldo White
IAADP# 9602
Waldo was born at a very early age. His first and only real job has been as an Audio Signal Service Dog. He was originally trained in 2008 by his companion Robert and a police k9 trainer. Waldo is not a big fan of SCUBA diving, but does think everyone at Nautilus is part of his pack and treats everyone like family. As a service dog, Waldo has been used as an example of proper behavior for other service dog companions and has been in several training scenarios for health department inspectors and restaurant managers. Waldo has also assisted in the training of several hotel and restaurant chains on proper service animal etiquette and the laws involved with service animal guests.
Waldo is very keen on his job and takes it super seriously while he is wearing his working vest. But just like everyone else, once he takes his uniform off, he is ready to let his hair down, all over the place.
