Dominica, The Nature Isle of the Caribbean!
Dominica is said to be the Caribbean’s best-kept secret because of the towering mountains, lush green forests, winding rivers and spectacular diving! You’ll be sure to remember this New Year’s Eve like nothing before!
The high volcanic island of Dominica is covered with lush, green rain forests, hundreds of waterfalls and rivers, and two boiling lakes. Located halfway between the islands of Guadeloupe and Martinique in the Caribbean Sea, Dominica is a diver’s dream and a hiker’s paradise. The trailhead to adventure and discovery, unlike any other Caribbean destination. An island with volcanic peaks, rain forest canopies, sparkling waterfalls, boiling waters, and underwater champagne springs.
Beauty Unspoiled and Culture Preserved
Nicknamed the Nature Isle, Dominica blends down-home charm with purely spectacular diving. The dramatic mountains that you can traverse by land are mirrored in the underwater topography at many dive sites. The rugged pinnacles, drop-offs, abyss depths, and vibrant marine life will amaze you. Healthy coral reefs provide a beautiful backdrop for unique schools of fish like barracudas, turtles, and stingrays passing by. Comprised of gnarled volcanic ledges, crevices, and swim-throughs the reefs provide sanctuary for a plethora of small creatures considered rare in other locales.
Here, seahorses and frogfish are frequently seen. Batfish, flying gurnards, yellow head jawfish, upside-down jellyfish, and flamingo tongue snails are also local residents if you search carefully. Especially unique to the island are thermal springs, which erupt above and below the sea forming volcanic bubbles in warm waters at certain dive sites.
