PADI Assistant Instructor #235412
Rob has been with our outfit longer than any other employee or Dive Professional at Nautilus Aquatics. Rob’s been an open-water SCUBA diver for over 20 years, earning his initial Open Water SCUBA certification while living in N.C. He’s been a PADI Pro for at least 6 of those years. Rob migrated to Northern VA and soon signed up for the PADI Divemaster internship with the original Nautilus Aquatics. Currently Rob teaches; Underwater Digital Photography, Peak Performance Buoyancy & PADI Equipment Specialist.
Favorite Dive Sites and/or Types of Diving: Rob is a huge fan of Drift Diving in Cozumel and the Bahama’s. He’s also a huge fan of Closed Circuit Rebreather Diving (eCCR). His favorite dive sites, aside from the Caribbean are the many wrecks off the Coasts of North and South Carolina!
Fun fact(s) about Rob Outside of Diving: Rob is a complete gear-head who’s restored a 1970 Corvette Convertible, in his spare time. He’s also a big Civil War Buff and Mountain Biker. He often combines those two hobbies, by biking in and around the many Virginia Civil War battlefields and historical sites.
Rob’s thoughts on diving: Dive within your limits but never limit your diving! The more you learn about the sport the more fun your diving! I hold nearly 20 SCUBA Diving specialties and each one has broaden my diving experiences and fun. I always encourage any diver to broaden their dive training and remind that there’s always diving tomorrow. Don’t over do it or attempt a dive you haven’t received formal training in or certification.
