Congrats! You’ve completed your studies and confined water dives. You are ready for the last step in becoming a certified Open Water Diver – your open water certification dives!
Prerequisites: Completion of Open Water classroom and confined water training.
Included in Price: Instruction, scuba equipment rental fees, air fills, and diver ID card. Your rental package includes a 7mm wetsuit, hood, gloves, weight integrated BC, tank, weights, and a regulator with dive computer.
** Students must remember to bring their own personal items including logbook, mask, fins, snorkel, and booties and are responsible for their own transportation.
Medical: Prior to taking this scuba course, you will need to complete a Liability Release and Medical Form. Please review the Medical form and determine if you are eligible to take a scuba course or if you will need a doctor to sign-off on your form prior to starting the course. This information is required to enroll or begin any diver training.
Diving Location Options: For completing your course locally, join us at one of three locations, Dutch Springs in Bethlehem, PA, Lake Phoenix in Rawlings, VA, or Hydes Quarry in Westminster, MD. Alternatively visit our Travel Page to join us on one of our fantastic trips to a more exotic locale. Or take a Referral packet to another dive center at a destination of your choice.
Option 1: Hydes Quarry
Close to home
5-10 ft. visibility, stair access to/from water
No frills and no facilities. Training only.
Option 2: Camp & Dive Weekend **Recommended**
Dutch Springs or Lake Phoenix, 3-4 hour drive
30-40 ft. visibility, large training platforms, easy shore access to/from water
Bath houses with toilets and hot showers, concession stands, and gift shop
Fee includes Scuba Park entrance fee, camping fees for 2 days, all meals, and extra air fill for a fun dive post-certification!
**Student arrival and setup Friday evening, training conducted Saturday/Sunday of your chosen weekend
Option 3: Travel and/or Referral
Take a trip! Dive with the Nautilus staff you know and love on one of our fantastic dive trips (see travel flyer or website for details) OR Bring your referral packet to a PADI Dive Center at the destination of your choosing.
Class Confirmation: Enrollment confirms your space in a class; however we will call you to obtain the balance remaining as well as to go over training details and answer any questions you may have.
Cancellations or Rescheduling: Cancellations or rescheduling require 48-hour notice. You may reschedule one time at no charge, after that any further adjustments will incur a $50 rescheduling fee per change. Cancellations are subject to a $75 cancellation fee.
Course Time: This course is conducted on site on any of our Open Water weekends. In water training is generally held from 8am-2pm both Saturday and Sunday but may vary based on the course, training location, and instructor scheduling. Studies must be completed by classtime.

Note on Rental Gear: For Camp-n-Dive Weekends, rental gear may be picked up anytime Thursday and Friday after 3pm the week of the event. For Hydes Weekends, rental gear may be picked up on Friday 12pm – 8pm.
