PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor #329749
“B” started her underwater life in 1998, earning her PADI Open Water Certification in the Indian Ocean during a trip with her niece to the island of Mauritius, east of Madagascar, off the coast of South Africa. In 1999, she earned her Advanced Open Water Certification in the Flores Sea around Moyo Island, a part of the Indonesian Archipelago. In 2001, she returned to the Indian Ocean on another family trip, and earned her Rescue Diver Certification and her Skin Diver Certification on the coral-island nation of the Maldives. After a decade of recreational diving from Borneo to Bonaire, B became a SCUBA instructor right here in Northern Virginia, home-sweet-home! She earned her Divemaster and Assistant Instructor ratings in the low-visibility challenge of Lake Millbrook and, after years of warm-water diving at sites from the Andaman Sea to the Caribbean, she earned her PADI Open Water SCUBA Instructor rating on a chilly Sunday in October, in the clear, fresh water of Dutch Springs, Pennsylvania. Her final test? Underwater pumpkin carving!
